[Solved] Is there a way to maintain a constant voltage output for high current input?

KapadiaM Asks: Is there a way to maintain a constant voltage output for high current input?
It might be obvious that a voltage regulator might be the perfect choice, but based on my conditions (attached VI curve) I have difficulty finding a voltage regulator that fits. I have also been hinted at using a relay.

  • Input voltage (min)- 12V DC
  • Input voltage (max)- 18V DC
  • Input current (@12V)- 12.5A
  • Desired output voltage- 12V DC

This output voltage is to be then used for an inverter (150W) with 12V DC input and then finally used for a battery charger (67.2V at 1.75A).

Since I have minimal knowledge in circuits, I appreciate any input.
