[Solved] Custom summary table for tracked value

I often have to write project proposals that include estimates of work required. What I’d like to do is write a short estimate environment within each section/subsection describing the detailed work and the have a table of contents type summary adding up all the estimates for each section.

e.g.

This is a summary of estimated work required:
tableofworkestimates

section{Goal 1}
begin{workestimate}
 item[5 days] Do some stuff
 item[2 days] Do some more stuff
end{workestimate}

Now go into very detail explanation of what actually needs to be done

section{Goal 2}

  item[15 days] testing
  item[5 days] rework stuff
end{workestimate}

Details, details, details ...
end{document}

Is there a package that will support this? If not, how would I get started with custom commands?
